本冊是竹笛音程練習，從低音一直到超高音區貫通一體，通透無格，上下自如。從跨躍障礙訓練起，最終達到無障礙演奏的效果，為求得演奏者的反應力以及思維靈敏度的提升奠定良好的基礎。本冊亦可作為五線譜視譜練習。全部練習均用＂吐音＂演奏。建議分三個步驟進行訓練：

一、♩＝60的速度演奏基本是視奏的初級練習階段；

二、♩＝60*2的翻倍速度將進入高級訓練階段；

三、將速度提至♩＝162左右時，演奏已進入超級練習曲的高、精、尖訓練階段。

以上各條是無障礙訓練的全過程。

本系列練習曲以訓練技術、技法為主，基本上不涉及（民族）風格問題。
